Join us for Wednesday Night Children/Youth Program and Adult Discipleship Class at 6:00PM

-
Our Wednesday Night Youth and Children’s Program has gotten off to a great start with 29 students signed up. We are into our 7th week already!
Our Children’s class leader is Carol Dayrider who is in charge of our young people in grades Pre-K to 4th grade. Jane Arends teaches the 5th through 7th graders, and David Arends heading up the students in 8th through 12th. Pam Wittmier is once again our Craft and Game leader.
The former choir room downstairs is going through a transformation into a Youth Room for the High Schoolers. They have chosen some lounge furniture and will add some new wall paint to make it their own.
Feeding a hungry crowd on Wednesday nights is very popular with our participants. Pam and Karla Wittmier have started us off with some delicious Kid-friendly suppers. A big “THANK YOU” to Marla Bruner and Della Kellogg for once again helping out as well. We also have some parents lined up to share their culinary talents with us in the next few weeks.
On October 15th, we drove the Youth around Conrad to “Trick or Treat” for the Food Pantry. They brought in 290 pounds of food!
You may have noticed our Hay Bale entry in the Chamber of Commerce contest to raise money to keep the Conrad Senior Center serving meals and the Senior Surrey running. The Youth helped with our Bale’m (Balaam), and His Talking Donkey display out in front of the church. You can check out the story in the Old Testament book of Numbers Chapter 10.
We have 3 more special events planned before Christmas, which includes a visit to the Logan Extended Care, Horizon Lodge, as well as a Children and Youth-led Christmas Church Service on Sunday, December 14th.
We begin our Wednesday program with dinner at 6:15PM and go until 7:45PM. If you know a young person who would like to join us, just have them show up with a parent next Wednesday to register. If you need more information, please call Jane Arends at (406) 450-4163. Thank you for your continued support of this ministry.

If you drove up and down 4th Ave in Conrad in October, you probably noticed our Bale’m and his Donkey Hay Bale display. Although our church is not a member of the Chamber we wanted to join in and do our part in helping out the Senior Center and Surrey. This was a Youth Group sponsored fundraiser, and people generously gave $331 toward the effort. Thank you all who participated in this event. A special thank you to Lisa Schmidt for the hay bales.
Our Wednesday Night Youth Group attendees have also poured their hearts into their practices for our upcoming Christmas Season. At the church last Wednesday, chimes were ringing, a guitar strumming, and lots of voices singing out Carols old and new in preparation for their visits to the Horizon Lodge on December 3rd, Extended Care on December 17th, and Church service on December 14th. We can all look forward to enthusiastic singers from ages 4 to 17 sharing in the Joy of the season through song and a dramatic sketch. All are welcome. Spread the word! Food will be served after church on the 14th.
After our own Christmas party on December 17th, we will be taking a Christmas Break and be back to our regular schedule on January 7th. If any church members would like to participate in helping with a meal for our 28 youth and additional adult volunteers in the new year, please talk to Pam Wittmier or Jane Arends. Thanks for the support from Conrad Presbyterian Church and community members.
